You should have a top 100 or top 50 for public courses, and one for private courses

It is hard to believe that Toronto GC is #17 - it is the first great course in the country and certainly deserves a higher ranking.

I think the Muskoka courses (including Manitou) are a little too high. Often these courses start with very high ratings and later fall - see Lake Joseph and The Rock for past examples.

One of your female raters (Anne) had The National in her top 5. That would be surprising!

Hey Craig--what the heck does "12" mean? And TOgolfer--I've seen some new Muskoka courses fall in the rankings after their big debut, but the three near the top--Muskoka bay, Bigwin and Ridge at Manitou--haven't moved since the last ranking, so the panel members obviously feel they deserve to stay where they are. In fact, I wonder if they shouldn't be even higher!

I have played all of the Stanley Thompson Couses in Ontario. My course Dundas Valley is the only one not ranked in the top 100. In my view our course is as good or better than a number of the other Thompson courses ranked in your top 100. .

Dundas Valley is a nice course, but I don't think there's much Stanley Thompson left in it anymore. What Stanley courses on the list do you think Dundas is better than?

My ratings of 'Stanley' courses are St Georges, Westmount, Missisauga, Summit, Brantford, Oakdale and St Thomas. In my view there is not a lot to choose among the other 12 'Stanley'courses in the top 100. Although I believe Dundas is better than some of these, I won't get into this debate. However will say that if a panel just rated these 12 courses, plus Dundas, our course may not finish first but would not be last. Not sure why you think there is not much 'Stanley' left in Dundas. David Moote did some changes to 2 and 12 a few years ago. One could argue that the character of 2 has changed, but it has gone from an easy par 3 to a very challenging hole. All the other holes have remained basically unchanged over the years.
